Both of these groups have become more proactive rather than reactive.
He would like to meet in April or May to map out next year.It would be healthy to come up with combined goals before things get too busy.
It doesn’t have to be in this setting, could be a social event
April 10th – steel band 8:00 pm
April 12th – spirit night 7:00pm
Concerts – April 18th 3:00 symphonic
April 21st 8:00 concert band
April 22nd 8:00 U Band
April 17th – noon – Spring Football – should end around 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm
April 17th – New Student Orientation – in the morning
Fundraising/Service - Akron Aeros games
New Orleans Brass Band
Board of Trustee members at Children’s Hospital – march through with the band, or just KKPsi and TBS, maybe bring football players to pass out footballs
Car wash – Give a free carwash and get a certain amount of car washed in a day (up to 100) – have sponsors who will donate a certain amount of money per car we wash.(Example: have someone donate $0.50 per car, so with 100 cars that would be $50.)Need to find locations for having the car wash.Dates to do the car wash were April 10th, April 24th.He would like to have April 24th be the rain date, but that’s the date of Color Guard and Percussion auditions.The two top sellers would walk away with $150 cash as a reward (assuming everyone sells 5 sponsorships)
Discussion – Relay for Life is the 24th – but the 24th could still be an afternoon rain date.
All checks would be sent to the Music Office and letters to collect the money would also be sent out through the music office.Will be from the band department
Spring football – football game starts at noon – get together midmorning depending on who all volunteers, will play during the game.
People to get money from – professors, high school band directors, alumni, church people, etc.
Presidents will get together to find a location – Karriker gave them a deadline of 1 week
Discussed different locations for the car wash – Drug Mart, Chipotle, etc.
Need lots of traffic and availability to water spickets
Sponsors – go to Athletics, Buchtel Hall, etc.
Preseason Marching Band is August 14th
July 9th – Infocision will be host to the Blue Coats and their home show at 7:00pm
They need ushers
If you’re interested in being an usher, wear tan slacks or tan shorts(dressy) and your band polo and make sure when drum corps are performing make sure people don’t walk in until the drum corps are finished.If interested, sign up after the meeting.
